Welcome to Abanté Accounting, and to my first ever blog!
Hopefully this website has already given you a bit of an idea about us a firm. In a nutshell, we aim for great service. I could go on & on about what we believe great service looks like, about our philosophies on public practice accounting services, money, financial purpose etc. but I’ll leave that for now. Over time you’ll get to know us better through your interactions with us or through reading these blogs.
As for me, I haven’t been a blogger in the past because I think I’ve just had too much to do! When others have mentioned blogging and social media, I’ve done mental somersaults trying to figure out where on earth I’d find the time! As a single mum of two children for a long period of time, and the sole income provider, I found my days filled with work, home & child related activities that left me completely exhausted by 9pm and incapable of stringing together a cohesive sentence by the end of the week! My weekends were spent catching up on neglected housework, attempting a face-to-face social life, and grabbing every second of rest and sleep I could get – all with the aim of preparing me for another week of the same onslaught!
Not to say life was unenjoyable. It wasn’t. I love life! I find treasure and pleasure in the little things and the big. Of which there are too many in my life to name, and I don’t want to bore you. And besides, I’m sure you can think of your own list of beautiful things which make the daily grind worthwhile.
All this just to say, please be gracious towards me when I get this blogging thing wrong, and to say that I’m really looking forward to our time ahead. To those of you who are already my clients, I really value your input into my life, and I hope my input into yours has been valuable to you too.
Onward & upward! As the word ‘abanté’ means, let’s look forward to helping each other ‘advance’ in this life ‘in a purposeful way.’ There’s so much more ahead of us!
